Lower Cholesterol Foods
There are so many types of lower cholesterol foods
that I am sure you would do anything to cut down on your cholesterol level to have a healthier life. In order to
achieve that goal successfully, you need to know what to eat and what not to eat. I am going to give you a
helping hand with that!
Here goes: Saturated
fats and trans fats are two type of fats that you should avoid. It’s easy to spot these fats - they are solid in room temperature. Saturated
fats, which is used on meat, is the culprit which chokes the arteries in our heart. Butter, cream and cheese
contain this fat so these are the foods that you should avoid.
Trans fatty acid, or
trans fat, is also bad for health. It is made in the hydrogenation process which makes the liquid oil solid.
Once it solidifies, it is used in many food products. You can find trans fat in simple foods like cookies,
doughnuts and biscuits. Again, you should not buy these foods.
You might be bumped
when you read this as most of your favorite foods are high in cholesterol. Don’t worry as there are still other
delicious foods that lower cholesterol that you can eat, such as:
Fish - When it comes to
fish, eat salmon, herring and mackerel as they are low in cholesterol and high in Omega 3. Omega 3 increases the
good cholesterol ( HDL) and lower triglycerides which is a fatty element
that circulates in blood.
Fruits and Vegetables -
They only contain a small amount of fat that is unsaturated. So, you can eat fruits that can lower your
cholesterol naturally, such as apples, pears, avocados, blueberries and pomegranates.
Nuts - As surprising as
it seems, nuts is also among the foods to lower cholesterol because of its Omega 3 fats and antioxidants. It is
believed that nuts lower bad cholesterol levels (LDL) while repairing the damage caused by saturated fat.
Walnuts and almonds are the best in this category.
Olive oil – This is a
type of cholesterol lowering food that will keep bad cholesterol at bay while promoting good cholesterol at the
same time.
The food listed above
will help you to lower your cholesterol levels. Many people find success in this endeavor by combining smart
diet choices with natural cholesterol-reducing remedies. Natural cholesterol reducing remedies are safe and
effective than using drugs. So, why not opt for lower cholesterol foods which are natural instead of taking
medications, right? I hope this short article on how to lower cholesterol by using foods will enable you to make
informed choices about your health.
